Sweet Corn Festival

September 8, 2007

Saturday proved to be another beautiful day here at Pleasant Acres as we held our annual Sweet Corn Festival. The preparation begins early in the day when we start husking and cleaning the 500 ears of corn for cooking. Then, at 2pm, the festival begins. Campers bring their own plates, napkins, and drinks, and we supply the buttered corn and salt and pepper for them. It's an all you can eat event. We were pleased to see so many hungry mouths there to help us enjoy this sweet event.

The corn this year was supplied to us by Green Valley Farm Stand, down Rte. 23 towards Sussex (make a left at the end of DeWitt Rd.). They are open this fall Monday-Saturday and have a bunch of farm fresh produce for you to enjoy.
