Thanksgiving Pot Luck- We will celebrate Thanksgiving a little early at Pleasant Acres. Bring your favorite dish up to the pavilion at 2:00 and participate in the feast!
Sweet Corn Festival - Delicious farm fresh sweet corn, cooked outdoors, dipped in butter and salted to your liking. Free, all you can eat. Plenty for everyone. Bring your own plate or corn spears.
Scavenger Hunt -
Teamwork is the key to this old fashioned event. Bring your team of four people (there must be at least 2 children on each team.) Divide up the list & find as many of the items as possible in the time allotted.
Halloween - Boo! It's Halloween in September. Masquerade parade, apple dunking, the works. Contestants will be judged for cutest, scariest, and most creative costumes. Please register in office. No trick or treating on the campground.
Pumpkin Carving - We provide the pumpkins and the carving tools. Bring your energy and imagination.
Awards Assembly - A special time to show our appreciation to the long-time seasonal campers. Awards will be given to seasonals who have been with us for five years or more. All are welcome to attend.

SATURDAY EVENINGS


Supersonic DJs, Dances and Theme Nights -
Tommy Allen and his  professional DJs put together a mix of songs to please both young and old alike with our many theme nights. Dress up and become part of the party. Check the calendar for each of these fun events.
Mark Coulter & Tom Klimchock- These guys are real crowd pleasers. They may be one-man bands but they sound as good as a stage full of performers.
Hickory Rose Band,  Amarillo, Flashback, Side F/X, Blue Smoke - Come and enjoy some of the finest Country, Rock & Oldies Bands from around the Tri-State area. Dance to the latest hits or just sit and enjoy the music.

SUNDAYS


Baby Animal Petting -
From the time they are born through Labor Day, you will get a chance to meet the baby animals from our farm. Every Sunday morning at 10:30, we will bring them out of their pens to the lawn by the playground, where everyone can pet, feed, hold and love them.
Bingo - This game is for Pleasant Acres campers only. You will have a variety of prizes to select from. If there is more than one winner, all winners may select a prize.
Amateur Night - Any or all of Pleasant Acres campers may participate. Contestants will be judged and ribbons will be awarded in several categories. Please register during the day if you wish to participate. Contest will be followed by our End of Summer Dance featuring Supersonic DJs.

WEEKDAY ACTIVITIES

Evening Swim - Pool hours will be extended on Mondays until 10:30 p.m. for the special thrill of night swimming. The pool will be illuminated.
Game Night - We will have board games and cards or bring your favorite game and share it with others. That includes video games.
Ceramics Classes -
Projects available for young and old alike. Some can be completed in just one night. Purchase a piece and paint. Instruction and detail paints are free.

MEALS

Pancake, French Toast Breakfasts - On scheduled dates (see calendar), for our campers at 8:30 a.m. Bring your own dish, silverware and cup, and we will provide you with all the delicious Pancakes or French Toast you can eat.   They will be grill-hot, fresh from our super large griddles. Come back for seconds or thirds, if you like. Coffee provided. It's all free.
Spaghetti, Noodles, Macaroni, Chili or Soup - On scheduled dates (see calendar), for our campers in the evenings at 6:30 p.m. and some afternoons. Bring your own dish and silverware. Come back for seconds or thirds, if you like.

SATURDAY ACTIVITIES

Horse Drawn Hayrides - These are for everyone's enjoyment. They start at 11:00 a.m. (weather permitting), and we continue until everyone has had a turn. They are free and begin at the hayride barn. An antique farm tractor may be used if it is too hot for the horses, or they are not available.
Sheep Shearing - We will show you how the shearing is done, and answer any questions you might have about these wonderful, woolly animals.
Cow Milking - Anyone and everyone is welcome to try and get some milk the old-fashioned way, from a cow. We'll show you how.
Pig Chase - It's an old-fashioned pig chase for those wishing to participate. You will be competing with those in your own age bracket. Ribbons are awarded to the winners. Fun is guaranteed.
Pie Eating Contest - Sounds easy, but there may be a catch! Compete against your fellow campers to see who has the biggest mouth. Ribbons will be awarded. Fun is definitely expected.
Oxen Demonstration - Richard Smith and family will teach us all about these amazing work animals and demonstrate just how talented they really are.
Family Volleyball & Family Softball - Bring the entire family. Everyone gets to play for some old-fashioned family fun. Meet at the ball fields.
T-Shirt Tie Dying - Bring a white T-Shirt or we will have them on hand to purchase. We will learn how the hippies made their fashion statement.
Christmas In July - All the thrills of Christmas with Christmas songs, a decorated tree, Santa, presents, the works. Those giving a gift will receive a gift. Label your wrapped gifts Boy, Girl, Adult or Infant, based on who is giving it, and bring them to the office before 2 p.m. (Please keep gifts in the $ 5.00 range.)  All children will receive candy. 
Egg War - A new version of "Capture The Flag" where eggs are the ammo. Bring a "friend". Rules will be explained at the event. A must see to believe!
Chili Cook-0ff- Either bring a pot of your best recipe chili and compete with your fellow campers to be the chili champion, or simply come and sample the culinary capabilities of your friends. Entries must be home made.
Pennywhistle the Clown- Come see the silly antics of Pennywhistle the Clown. Lots of fun for children of all ages.
Honey Bees and Magic - Mr. Magic is returning, but this time he has a new "trick" up his sleeve; he will wave his magic wand and teach us about Honey Bees, all at the same time.
Tricky Tray- Once again, this year we will be holding a tricky tray to raise money for charity. The last three years have been huge successes. We are looking for people to donate trays, so if you and a group of friends are interested, please contact the campground office.
Frog Jumping Contest- First step--Go catch a frog. Second step, bring it to the pavilion at 2:00 and see if it can beat everyone else's frog in a race.
