Pleasant Acres News & Pictures 2007:
October 13, 2007
The Denman Family and the staff at Pleasant Acres would like to thank all of our campers, whether they have only spent a few days with us, or if you've been here for 30-plus years, for making this 2007 summer season a great success. We appreciate your enthusiastic support at the activities- it is what makes them all the more fun. Feel free to sit back and look at all the pictures from this year below... it was a blast! Keep looking forward to next year!
The last weekend is always filled with mixed emotions for us, as well as our seasonals. Though it is sad to have to say our goodbyes, it is always a bunch of fun to sit a reminisce about the season that has just past! The weekend was loaded with fun -from horse-drawn hayrides in the autumn breeze, to a packed Spaghetti Dinner and a joyful Awards Ceremony. Afterwards we danced the night and the season away at our End of the Season Dance.
October 6-7, 2007
The final days of the summer season are upon us here at Pleasant Acres, and this weekend met us with beautiful, but quite warm, weather... a much different feel from last weekend. (I guess the fall weather was just visiting.) On Saturday, campers gathered for some fun and history rolled into one, with our annual Apple Cider Making Demonstration. Also on Saturday, campers gathered in the pavilion to celebrate the engagement of one of our seasonal campers, Nadine Keenan. Congratulations to Nadine and her fiancé, John. We here at Pleasant Acres wish them all the happiness in the world. Hope everyone had a great weekend and we are looking forward to seeing everyone next weekend for our end of the year Spaghetti Dinner and Seasonal Awards Assembly (the fun starts at 1pm in the pavilion). Have a great week!
September 29-30, 2007
The fall weather set in on Sunday, but not before we were able to have our annual Thanksgiving Pot Luck Dinner. Campers gathered Saturday afternoon with food galore, and we all sat down and enjoyed the food and each others company. This will be the last weekend some of our families will be able to make it up, so it was a nice way of saying good bye and see you next year. We still have two more weekends of fun left for this season, however. Check out the schedule of activities for times and we hope to see you around. For everyone who won't be able to join us for the remainder of the season, have a safe, happy, and healthy winter and we look forward to enjoying the 2008 season with you. Thanks again from all of us here at Pleasant Acres.

Labor Day Weekend
September 1-2, 2007
What a way to end our main part of the summer season here at Pleasant Acres. The fun started early on Saturday morning when some of our campers gathered for the 4th Annual Horseshoe Tournament. Then in the afternoon, everyone gathered at the Sheep Pen for one last chance to catch a pig this summer at our Labor Day Pig Chase. On Sunday we held our last Baby Animal Petting of the season and, in the evening, we held our annual Amateur Night, which was followed by our ever popular End of the Summer Dance featuring Supersonic DJs. We thank everyone who helped us enjoy this beautiful last weekend of the summer and we wish everyone going back to school, both students and teachers alike, a safe and fun start of the school year. Have a great week and we will see everyone back next weekend!

Fourth of July Week
July 2-6, 2007
Usually, we celebrate the Fourth of July on the first weekend in July. However, with the holiday falling on a Wednesday this year, we decided to carry on the festivities on thru the week and into the next weekend. On Tuesday, our campers were treated to a special Patriotic Dance, put on by Supersonic DJs. On Thursday, our newly acquired pigs were moved into their New Digs down by the Recycling Area.
Fourth of July Weekend
June 30- July 1, 2007
What a way to kick off this Fourth of July Celebration! On Saturday morning, our friends from Green Valley Farm brought by some of their fresh produce and baked goods that campers could partake in after their Hayrides. Later in the afternoon, we held our annual Fourth of July Pig Chase, which, as always, was a huge success. On Sunday, we had Bunnies Galore! at our baby animal petting, courtesy of Papa John. It was definitely "hare" raising when a couple of those "wascally wabbits" made a run for it, but we got them back safe and sound. At night, the campers danced the night away at a special Sunday night dance.

Then in the evening, Lori Space Day of Space Farms brought by her friends (these not quite as cuddly) for our Wildlife Show. Thanks to all who joined us and we are looking forward to next weekend's Fourth of July festivities. See you all there!

Well, Billy & Willy were ready to go Saturday morning, so we hitched them up for their First Hayride here at Pleasant Acres. Everyone enjoyed it thoroughly. Then in the afternoon, Pennywhistle the Clown paid us a visit and entertained both kids and adults with fun activities, including balloon animals and face painting. The kids left with smiles on their faces, which is what we want to see. And that afternoon was a rainstorm which produced a brilliant rainbow, which one of our campers caught on camera and shared with us. Just goes to show you that beauty is all around us here at Pleasant Acres! Catch you next weekend!

Then on Sunday, our campers were able to meet for the first time, up close and personal, our new hayride team, Billy and Willy, at a special Meet & Greet during baby animal petting. They sure enjoyed it and we hope that you did too. See you next weekend!
